Transcrib Si vs Otter.ai

Otter is a meeting assistant: it records calls, summarizes them and pushes the result into your CRM, and it is cheaper per seat than we are — $8.33 per user per month against our $10. Transcrib Si is a transcription service and an API: you bring a file, you get the text with timestamps and speaker labels, and nothing is ever recorded on your behalf.

What we compared, and how

Everything in the other column was read from public pages on public-information audit of 21 October 2026. Where a page could not be read, the cell says “not measured” — we do not fill those cells from advertising or from memory.

Where Otter is better

  • It records the meeting. A bot joins the call, the summary appears afterwards, and the result can go into your CRM. We do not do this at all.
  • Price per seat. Pro is $8.33 per user per month, Business $19.99 per user per month, and students get 20% off. Our Pro is $10 a month for one person.
  • The free allowance is bigger. 300 minutes a month against our three files a day.
  • It is a meeting workspace, not a transcription tool. If your team lives in calls, that is the point.

Where Transcrib Si is better

  • Your file, your call. Nothing is recorded without you: no bot in the invite, no surprise microphone, no second copy of a conversation in somebody else's cloud.
  • Russian and mixed Russian-English. Our engine is tuned for Russian speech; we could not measure the same for Otter.
  • Agent access as a first-class thing. A REST API, an MCP server with 4 tools and plugins for Claude and ChatGPT. Otter includes an MCP server in its Pro plan, which is the closest thing we found on either side.
  • Machine-readable facts. Prices and limits are published in llms.txt, llms-full.txt and as JSON-LD offers. Otter's llms.txt returns its home page as HTML, so a program gets no index from it.

Who should pick which

  • Pick Otter if you want meetings recorded and summarized automatically, for several people, with a CRM behind it.
  • Pick Transcrib Si if you already have the recording, if you work in Russian, if you want the text in your own pipeline through the API, or if you would rather nothing was recorded unless you press the button.
  • Pick either if a free plan is the deciding factor — both give you minutes of transcription at no cost.
This is not a review. It is a comparison of facts we could read and measure on public-information audit of 21 October 2026. We publish one of the two services and we have tried to state our own weak side as plainly as we state the other one.

FAQ

Questions this page answers.

Is Transcrib Si cheaper than Otter?

Per seat, no: our Pro is $10 a month for one person, Otter's Pro is $8.33 per user per month. If you are one person, the difference is small; the difference that matters is what you get — a fixed 1,500 minutes a month on our side against a meeting workspace on Otter's. The free plans differ more: ours is three files a day, Otter's is 300 minutes a month.

Does Otter record my meetings without me?

A Otter bot can join a call, which is the point of the product. Nothing equivalent exists in ours, by design: you upload a file you already have.

Can I use Transcrib Si from Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes: there is a plugin for each, and both go through the same MCP server, which exposes transcribe_audio, summarize_transcript, extract_actions and list_transcripts.

Which one handles Russian better?

We cannot measure Otter's Russian quality, so we will not claim one. Our engine runs a model profile tuned for Russian speech and for the Russian-English mix, and we will send the evaluation report and the sample set on request. We do not publish a single accuracy number on the site.

Can I use both?

Sure: transcribe the files that matter to you with one service and the rest with the other. Both export to TXT, SRT and DOCX, so the texts are easy to combine.
